Creating Question Bank

Welcome to Contentionary, in this article, you will learn how to create a Question bank and store questions into the Q-bank in Contentionary.

To begin, go to your created centre, click on the Question Bank below your centre image, and when you open the question bank page, hit the ADD A NEW BANK button to open the new q-bank popup.

Inside the new bank pop-up, click the Enter Bank Name field and type the name of your new question bank, now click the description box to add a description of your new question bank. After that hit the Add New Question Bank button

After adding the question bank, you will see the new Question bank folder, and that is how to create a question bank in Contentionary.

Note, you can create an unlimited number of question bank folders in your centre.

Adding Questions to Question Bank

Now that we have created the Question Bank, let us see how to add questions into the Question bank in Contentionary.

Click on the Question Bank folder and hit the Add New Question button, and when it pops up, click the Question Type dropdown to select the question type. Question types are Theory, Boolean, Range, Objective and Multi-choice.

Note: Do not add numbering to the questions as the system will automatically add numbers to the questions

Theory Questions

If you select the Theory type,

Type your question inside the Question Box, then enter the question mark, and enter the duration (time in minutes) allocated to the question, click the solution to add solutions to the question, after that, hit the Add new question button.

Boolean Question (True or False)

If you select the Boolean type,

The system will automatically give you the True and False options. So type your questions and click the box for the right option, then hit the add new exam button.

Range Question

If you select the Range type,

The system will automatically give you the Enter Minimum and Enter Maximum options. So type your questions and enter the right minimum and maximum value, then hit the Add new Exam button.

Objective (MCQs) Questions

If you select the Objective type,

Type your question inside the Question Box, then click the Add option button to add a new option, click the add option to add another option, do the same if you have more than two options. After adding all your options, check the box with the correct answer. Then hit the Add new question button.

Multi-Choice Questions

If you select the Multi-choice type,

Type your question inside the Question Box, then click on the Add Option button to add a new option, click the Add option button again to add another option, and repeat if you have more than two options. After adding all your options, check the boxes with the correct answers. Then hit the Add new question button.

Adding solutions, editing and deleting questions

If you have the solution explanation to your question, you can add it by clicking add solution button, then type the solution in the solution box. If the solution has attached image, then hit add image and click the image icon to select your image file. After that, hit the Add new question button.

To edit your question in a case of typographical errors or wrong answer ticked, you can edit the question by clicking the pencil icon, then the edit pop-up will show, edit and then hit the Update Question button

To delete a question from your question bank, just hit the delete icon and click the Sure Delete button to confirm the delete.
